possible retraining for Vettel?

After the announcement of Sebastian Vettel’s retirement from Formula 1, proposals to see the German champion extend his career are pouring in.

The news did not take the paddock by surprise even if, at 35, Vettel still has some good remains as evidenced by his top 10 last Sunday in Budapest.

However, he wants to slow down and spend more time with his family while pursuing other interests.

The quadruple world champion has not ruled out driving in other disciplines in the future, but has not made his decision to stop F1 with a retraining plan already in mind.

His friend Gerhard Berger, promoter of the DTM, dreams of counting him among his competitors while imagining that he will be more concerned about bees in the future, a reference to his ecological passions.

Another proposal came from across the Atlantic where Graham Rahal, the boss-driver of the eponymous team, would see him try his luck in IndyCar: the offer of a test has in any case been made.

During the Miami Grand Prix last May, Vettel had criticized the track and pointed out that there were « real circuits » in the United States by mentioning the road layout of Road America.

“Seb is welcome for a test and even to race, suggests Rahal. A champion of his caliber would be competitive here and I’m sure he would appreciate a more relaxed environment than Formula 1. »
