If you can no longer follow the Porsche range, rest assured: neither can we! Not that the range is very complicated in itself, but it is true that the pace of presentation of the models is sustained! So if in addition the Zuffenhausen firm has fun muddying the waters
This is what she did last November by presenting her Taycan GTS. Except that behind this new version also hides the presentation of a new body, the Sport Turismo, almost eclipsed by the sporty presentation, its Crimson Red, and the enticing technical sheet.
Yet the Taycan Sport Turismo is indeed a novelty that further expands the German brand’s electric range, a station wagon that gets rid of the adventurer tricks of the Taycan Cross Turismo, and its raised ground clearance. For the past few days, moreover, a complete range of Taycan Sport Turismo has been offered in the catalog. In total, there are five different Porsche Taycan Sport Turismos.
If we add the Cross Turismo, that makes nine different station wagons in the Porsche electric range!
Let’s start by dwelling on the differences of this Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo with the sedan. It shares body proportions with the Cross Turismo, but without the off-road look. The practicality and habitability, however, remain superior to those of the sedan, with 45 mm more headroom at the rear than in the classic Taycan.
In addition, the tailgate opening is longer and higher (801 and 543 mm compared to 434 and 330 mm for the sedan).
Trunk capacity partly depends on the equipment included. With the Sound Package Plus, the capacity is 446 litres, while the Bose Surround Sound System drops to 405 litres. By folding the rear row in 60:40 mode, the capacity increases to 1212 or 1171 liters respectively. To this must be added the 84 liters of the front luggage compartment.
The first member of the new Sport Turismo family will be the GTS which will arrive in Europe at the end of February, with the other models arriving at the end of March. Initially, it will be available with the optional panoramic roof with Sunshine Control function, which is equipped with a special electrically operated anti-dazzle device in different modes.
In terms of technology, Porsche can count on the Porsche Communication Management system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto and the voice assistant Voice Pilot. In addition, the remote parking assistance allows the car to be parked automatically without having to sit behind the wheel, while the charging planner has been refined to more efficiently calculate the planning of stops for fast charging.
The price of the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo starts on the French market at €89,324 for the « basic » version with rear-wheel drive and a power of 407 hp in overboost mode and activating Launch Control.
Going up a level, we find the 4S with all-wheel drive and 530 hp with a starting price set at €110,374. This variant offers the greatest range with a range of 498 km in the WLTP cycle.
The mid-range version is the GTS billed at €136,619, a finish shared with the Taycan sedan and capable of delivering 598 hp. Above again we find the Turbo with 680 hp and 157,294 €, before arriving at the top of the range Turbo S with 761 hp (0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds) and a minimum price of 190,894 € .
