Porsche supports a Swiss inclusion project

Rotkreuz (ots)

Porsche Schweiz AG promotes the mobility of people with disabilities and further strengthens its social commitment to inclusion. Together with Procap Switzerland, a self-help association of and for people with disabilities based in Olten, Porsche has set itself the goal of achieving inclusion through mobility and thus strengthening social coexistence. Synonymous with the realization of dreams, the Porsche brand wishes through this project to help people with disabilities realize their dream of hiking and therefore of personal mobility.

Going on a hike to enjoy the Swiss nature is not possible for everyone. The hiking trails are rarely barrier-free, and what’s more, they are impassable for the blind or visually impaired. To make obstacles such as waterways and bodies of water, cattle gates, fences and steps passable and to enable everyone to go hiking, Porsche is committed to Switzerland for the long term, both financially and by transferring its know-how from the automotive sector. Plans include creating alternative barrier-free routes, creating experiences for people with and without disabilities, bringing together tandem partners who hike together, optimizing an electric hiking chair and encouraging mutual learning. for better awareness. In addition, other hiking trails will be made accessible to blind and visually impaired people through an application providing voice guidance and GPS data.
