Porsche Macan T, a new agile and dynamic version
The Macan T is the fourth version of the 2023 version of the Porsche compact SUV. It fits between the basic versions and Macan S while the GTS still caps the range, among the biggest bestsellers of the German manufacturer. The acronym T is that of “Touring”, a label reserved until then for 911 and 718 equipped with small nervous, dynamic and doped turbo engines.
4 cylinders for more fun
Thus, the Macan T embeds the 2L 4-cylinder of the basic Macan, reworked by the Porsche teams, which delivers 265 horsepower and benefits from 400 Nm of torque over a very wide range (according to the manufacturer). It is also 58 kilos lighter at the front compared to the engines of the S and GTS versions, the famous 6-cylinder turbo. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via the 7-speed PDK gearbox and Porsche Traction Management.
This new version of the German compact SUV thus promises a 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 232 km/h. As standard, the Porsche Macan T features a steel suspension lowered by 15 mm, controlled by the Porsche Active Suspension Management system. Without revealing its house recipe, the brand claims that » chassis tuning has been optimized » and » the stabilizer bars on the front axle are firmer « .
Without having taken it in hand yet, we can still say that the new Macan T will be more responsive, dynamic, comfortable, precise – and fun? – to drive on country roads and in bends than the S and GTS versions, devouring straight lines on the autobahn.
The look of the Porsche Macan T
From the outside, the Porsche Macan T stands out from the other versions with its Quartz Gray livery, its details (especially the exhaust outlets) in glossy black and its 20-inch titanium-finish rims. Inside, the contrasting seams of the seats take up the color of the bodywork and the logo is embossed on the headrest. Note that the GT sports multifunction steering wheel and the Sport Chrono stopwatch are supplied as standard.
Available to order from this spring, from €71,440, the Macan T could be the latest version of the Porsche compact SUV. Before the arrival next year of a 100% electric version?
