Porsche Macan EV: waiting for 2023
The new Porsche Macan EV which should hit the market in 2024 is still in the development phase. The Stuttgart sports brand’s test engineers are continuing their tests in the mountains. Despite the camouflage we can discover some details of this electric vehicle.

Certain style elements are clearly visible on these prototypes. Thus we distinguish the graphics of the projectors with the daytime running lights and the indicators. We also see that the doors are frameless. At the rear, we can see the spoiler under the hatch window, Porsche installing fake exhaust outlets to try to fool scoop hunters. A waste of time, it is indeed an electric vehicle.

The Porsche Macan EV for these tests pulls a Porsche Cayenne with a tow bar. We can see that alongside this imposing vehicle, the Porsche Macan EV seems much smaller. It could also be more compact than the current “thermal” Porsche Macan, which is 4.73 m long. The Porsche Macan EV pulls the Porsche Cayenne and when its batteries are empty, exchange of good practices, it is the Porsche Cayenne which takes care of bringing it back to the garage.

The Porsche Macan EV should be presented in 2023 for marketing in 2024. It will use the new PPE platform, a technical basis jointly developed by Porsche and Audi. The two German brands will use it for their future high-end electric models. The main engine of the Macan EV will be positioned at the rear to drive the rear wheels and, on some versions, an additional engine installed at the front will be responsible for driving the front wheels. The maximum power of this model should be around 500 hp and the range could exceed 500 km. Finally, in the passenger compartment the Porsche Macan could have furniture borrowed from the Porsche Taycan.
