Since 2020, Porsche Classic has been offering two infotainment systems for many old and modern classic cars of the brand with Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) and Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus). Among other features, these upgraded devices allow the use of Apple CarPlay (from iPhone 5) and Android Auto for media playback, navigation and phone calls. A corresponding product range is now available, with immediate effect, for the sixth generation Porsche 911 (type 997) for model years 2005 to 2008, the first generation Boxster and Cayman (type 987) for model years 2005 to 2008 and the first generation Cayenne for model years 200. to 2008. For the first time, Porsche is also offering specific devices for different regions.

And shortly after the successful launch of the infotainment systems for retrofitting, we received corresponding inquiries from owners of the first generation 997 997. That is why we are now significantly expanding our range of Porsche Classic devices Communication Management Plus for retrofitting. »said Ulrike Lutz, director of Porsche Classic.
The Porsche models named above were already equipped with a second-generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) in 2-DIN format on request. The new PCCM Plus perfectly replaces these original built-in devices, as well as the CDR 23 CD radio (Cayenne) and the CDR 24 CD radio (Boxster/Cayman). Its look and feel are based on the components already installed in the car, such as the climate control panel or the push buttons. The PCCM Plus therefore fits perfectly into its environment. The Porsche logo immediately identifies devices as developed by Porsche. Peripheral components such as amplifier, speakers or antenna can be used as before. Instrument cluster navigation screens also continue to be supported.
The PCCM Plus equipment includes a 7-inch touch screen with a state-of-the-art graphic display. DAB+ allows reception of digital radio stations with the European version, while the version for the USA and Canada is programmed for SiriusXM satellite radio. The driver has the latest on-board navigation with Porsche-specific points of interest (POI) displayed in 2D or 3D. Map updates will be offered for this purpose at regular intervals in the future. Multimedia playback is possible via USB stick, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay (from iPhone 5) and Android Auto. Another function is the on-board computer which provides lots of useful driving data. In the 911, Boxster and Cayman, personal car settings can also be saved. Depending on the vehicle equipment, this memory function can be used for the lights, windscreen wipers, air conditioning and locking.
The new PCCM Plus devices cost 1,520.37 euros. Separately available devices and map material can be ordered from Porsche Centres. Installation at a Porsche Classic Partner or a Porsche Center is recommended.
