Pinty’s extends its partnership with NASCAR until 2026 in Canada

Drivers and stock car enthusiasts across the country will be delighted to hear that Pinty’s has renewed its partnership with the Canadian NASCAR series through the end of the 2026 season.

The Ontario company, which specializes in poultry processing, has been associated with this championship for ten years now, but has been its main sponsor since 2016.

« Pinty’s commitment to the motorsport scene in Canada has been a major driver in enhancing the excitement and interest in this series, » said Chad Seigler, Vice President of NASCAR.

The future of the championship, the most important in the country, is therefore assured, at least for the next five years.

Curtain up

The kickoff of the 2022 season will be given at the oval circuit in Sunset, Ontario, on May 14 in the evening.

For the first time in three years, the calendar will include 13 stages, while in 2020 and 2021, the pandemic had led to the cancellation of certain events.

The NASCAR Pinty’s series will make three stops in Quebec this year, at Vallée-Jonction (June 11), Trois-Rivières (August 7) ​​and Mirabel (August 27).

The program also marks the return of the cars to the streets of Toronto (as part of the IndyCar weekend in mid-July), a first foray into Newfoundland, on the Eastbound oval track (June 25) and a dirt race, also a first in the series, scheduled for August 16 at the Ohsweken, Ontario complex.

Dumoulin rewarded

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin received his 2021 NASCAR Pinty’s Series Champion Medal at a ceremony Saturday afternoon at the Bristol, Tennessee, track.

Due to the pandemic, the banquet of champions, which traditionally takes place in Charlotte (North Carolina), at the end of the season had been canceled.

The gifted pilot from Trois-Rivières is thus awarded a third ring after his titles acquired in 2014 and 2018.

“It’s a great honor, told Dumoulin, in an interview with the Journal. But it’s also good news to see that Pinty’s will continue its association with the series.

“It proves that this championship is healthy and, more than ever, very competitive. »

Serial Trans-Am

Dumoulin will attempt to become just the second driver to win four Pinty’s Series titles in 2022, to tie the record held by Ontarian Scott Steckly.

He also wants to become the very first in the history of this series, inaugurated in 2007, to sign two consecutive titles.

Dumoulin could also take part in three other events in the Trans-Am series over the next few months.

At his first attempt, at the Charlotte road course recently, he was running in fifth place on the last lap before being involved in an accident for which he was not at fault.
