Pierre Ménès launches his football platform at Reworld Media

Pierre Ménès evoked, in recent weeks, the next date of his return to the media scene. It is now known: it will be on October 12 with the launch of a digital platform in association with the press group Reworld Media (owner in particular of Home and Works, Marie-France, Auto Plus, TeleStar, Top Health). It will be called Pierrot Football Club, a name that is reminiscent of the Football Club Channel where he officiated until his departure from Canal + this summer.

“We looked at Pierre’s community, he still has 2.5 million followers on Twitter. Some people will turn their backs on him, others will continue to follow him. «

Guillaume Sampic, CEO of Media365

If Pierre Ménès did not wish to answer our questions, Guillaume Sampic, the managing director of Media365 (the CNOSF Sport channel in France, sports.fr, football365, …), an entity of Reworld Media – a very criticized group for his way of doing the press without … journalists -, explained his choice to us: “In our group, we like entrepreneurs. And we know that an entrepreneur sometimes gets tripped up, experiences failure and when he returns, he gives the best of himself. In addition, I am not a fan of the media lynching. I do not defend it, but other times, other times. Things don’t turn out like that anymore, he himself handled it badly, I told him and I hope it got him in the head. He left Canal with a check and Bolloré is not in the habit of writing a check if there is serious misconduct. Pierre is divisive, and we are too. We also took it all in the head. We took over 48 media that were going in the trash and the first thing we had to do was cut costs. Not everyone liked it. We looked at Pierre’s community, he still has 2.5 million followers on Twitter. Some people will turn their backs on him, others will continue to follow him. Moreover, many asked him the date of his return.  »

Centered on football, the platform’s mission is to present interviews, reports, podcasts, analyzes and other contributions from Internet users who will be able to debate among themselves and with Pierre Ménès. « All without language of wood and in this relaxed tone which is my signature, writes Ménès in his press release. “He still has his entries into football, all the doors have not been closed. He had this project in his boxes at Canal, but it did not happen. There, we put the means, concludes Guillaume Sampic. We give ourselves the time we need. And if it doesn’t take off, we’ll have tried. «
