The Tampa Bay Lightning, winner of the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021 and still a finalist last season, won on the ice of the Seattle Kraken (4-1) on Monday in the NHL regular season. The Florida franchise has thus stopped the beautiful series of eight consecutive victories of the Kraken, a team which only saw the light of day last season and which is well placed this year to reach the play-offs.
Pierre-Édouard Bellemare, the only French player to play in the NHL this season, scored Tampa Bay’s first goal at the very end of the first period. This is his second of the season, after the one scored against Columbus in mid-December. Bellemare now has six points (two goals, four assists) to his name.
After this victory, the fourth in a row, the Lightning occupies third place in the Atlantic Division, behind the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs and is also fifth in the Eastern Conference.
