« Car spotting » was originally practiced more in coastal cities, or near luxury palaces, where the wealthiest could drive and show off their most prestigious vehicles: Lamborghini, Maseratti, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. But no interest for the eyes of the young Léopold, from Tours and still a student.

In Touraine?

No, him, his thing is everyday cars. Those with which we drive every day, on our small roads in the Loire Valley.

So if one day you find a nice photo of your car on the « Leopoleposition » Instagram account, it is certainly that it is in remarkable condition, or that it is a rarer model, or from a series special that you rarely come across on the roads.

For Léopold, it is truly the passion and love of the automobile that guides his choice of photographs. The vehicle must be as close as possible to its original state. And even if of course it is very difficult to hide the age of the vehicle, if it is well maintained and proudly displays the weight of its age and kilometers, that suits it! And if in addition the vehicle has not changed hands since its purchase, and the license plate has remained the same, it is a guaranteed nugget!

Every day, Leopold publishes, around 6 p.m., a series of photos – often 10 – of a vehicle that caught his attention. From all angles, his followers (those who follow the activity of his Instagram account) can see the condition of the vehicle, discover models less present on the roads, and comment on Leopold’s findings.

And surprise, it is not the most expensive vehicles, or the rarest that reap the most favors from Internet users. Often, an old or a « youngtimer » – a vehicle that is not yet classified as a collection or which is on the way to becoming one – provokes more reaction than a luxury sports car. And so much the better for Leopold, who has made his daily diversity his trademark on the networks.

Discreet, the young man wishes to remain anonymous – but his real name is Leopold – to continue to share his passion quietly on his Instagram account. But he concedes that it still takes him time. Often, one afternoon a week, he gets on his bike and goes in search of remarkable cars on the roads of Touraine. Yes, by bike. More practical, he admits, to stop and take pictures – with a simple mobile phone – and especially not to miss any vehicle.

His projects?

Soon a Youtube channel. The young man knows it, the automobile will always be part of his life. And his passion, he wants to continue to cultivate it, to transmit it. And it goes through social media.
