Palou will remain at Ganassi, Rosenqvist at McLaren
The IndyCar summer soap opera has just come to a conclusion: Alex Palou, although announced at McLaren, will continue to race for Chip Ganassi Racing in 2023.
The 25-year-old has been embroiled in a months-long legal battle with his team, after conflicting announcements claimed him at two different teams.
Palou himself disputed Ganassi’s original announcement on a contract extension and approved his move to McLaren for next season.
Now it looks like the two sides have come to an agreement. The Spaniard will drive for Ganassi in IndyCar but will be able to continue a battery of tests in F1 with McLaren.

“I am happy to announce that Chip Ganassi Racing and I have reached an agreement and that I will be back in the #10 car next season! Let’s experience a great 2023 season together! », comments Palou.
“I am also grateful that Chip Ganassi Racing is allowing me to pursue F1 testing with McLaren outside of my IndyCar commitments”
“Thanks to Chip and Mike [Hull] as well as to the entire team for their willingness to work together and support both the team and my personal goals throughout this process”
At McLaren, it is therefore Felix Rosenqvist who will team up with Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi in 2023. The Swede had extended his alliance with Zak Brown’s men during the summer, without his program being directly known. .
