O’Ward good for the service!

Zak Brown has confirmed that Pato O’Ward, Arrow McLaren SP IndyCar driver, tested positive in the team’s simulator in Woking, giving him the go-ahead for an F1 test in Abu Dhabi in December. .

Earlier this year, Brown promised O’Ward an F1 test if the 22-year-old won a round in IndyCar. But the Mexican did even better, winning at Texas Motor Speedway and Belle Isle, while finishing third overall.

The McLaren director will therefore keep his promise next month at Yas Marina where the ex-member of the Red Bull industry will take the wheel of the MCL35M during post-season testing.

“Pato is a great talent, Brown said at the recent United States Grand Prix. He had a great season in IndyCar, winning several races and could win the championship until the last race of the season at Long Beach. He is extremely fast ”.

« He’s a pretty big personality, Zak added. His preparation in the simulator was very good. I confirm that he will be with us in Abu Dhabi. I think it’s important that we don’t put too much pressure on him. We will see how he is doing ”.
