One-year contract for Aston-Reese with the Maple Leafs

Zach Aston Reese signed a one-year contract worth $840,630 with the Maple Leafs on Sunday.

The 28-year-old striker was attending training camp under a professional trial contract. He collected two points (one goal, one assist) in four preseason games, in addition to distributing eight hits.

Aston-Reese had 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 69 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks last season. He was traded to the Ducks for the striker Rickard RakellMarch 21th.

Undrafted, Aston-Reese signed a rookie contract with Pittsburgh on March 14, 2017. He has 66 points (32 goals, 34 assists) in 230 regular season games with the Penguins and Ducks, as well as four points (one goal , three assists) in 23 playoff games.
