Official: Edouard Mendy best UEFA goalkeeper of the year!
The Senegalese goalkeeper from Chelsea has been officially named the best UEFA goalkeeper of the year.
Edouard Mendy’s great season with Chelsea continues to bear fruit. Winner of the Champions League and the European Supercup, the Senegalese international has just offered his first individual title today in Istanbul. Absent from the ceremony, the Chelsea goalkeeper expressed his joy and thanks through a video.
This distinction of Edouard Mendy goes down in the history of world football as he becomes the first African goalkeeper to claim this title. A title that brings him closer and closer to the African Golden Ball this year where he will potentially find Riyad Mahrez as a direct competitor.
