French international footballer Kurt Zouma, at the heart of controversy after he was filmed hitting his cat, is not ruled out for Sunday’s England Championship game against Leicester, manager David Moyes announced on Friday.
“Yes, he is available to play against Leicester,” said the technician, who had already been criticized for starting Zouma against Watford on Tuesday despite the controversy.
Moyes did not want to overwhelm his player, an essential pawn of his device, and on whom criticism has rained since the beginning of the week.
“The RSCPA – the equivalent of the British SPA – will provide Kurt with advice on how to treat his animals. Kurt has incredible remorse. Sometimes you need a little forgiveness. He hopes people will forgive a bad deed,” the Englishman said at a press conference.
West Ham, in the fight for a place in the Champions League, are currently 4th in the Premier League.
