No, retirement time has not (yet) come for Tomas Plekanec
[ad_1]
Tomas Plekanec is 40 years old. This did not prevent him from collecting 49 points (16 goals) in 52 games last year in Kladno and we realize that at his age, he still has something to give in the world of hockey.
The former CH will celebrate his 41st birthday next fall (October 31) and despite everything, he has decided that the time for retirement has not yet come.
The Kladno Knights announced via an Instagram “story” that the team captain will be back next year…
And it will be his 24th season as a professional since the start of his career. It is enormous.
Tomas Plekanec will continue with Kladno Knights for another season, his 24th in professional hockey. He will be 41-years old in October.

We have known that for a long time. Tomas Plekanec is a sports lover.
After all, remember that he finished his career playing three games at the start of the 2018-2019 season, which allowed him to reach the 1,000 NHL game mark.
The season before, the Canadiens had traded him to the Leafs at the trade deadline… But « Pleky » wanted to return to Montreal with the goal of playing his 1,000th game in the uniform of the team that drafted him in the third round in the 2001 draft.
It goes without saying.
Last year, the Knights didn’t have a huge season (18-26-6 record), but they were still able to avoid relegation to the Czech league. This means that Jaromir Jagr, who has gender 103 years old (I’m hardly exaggerating, he’s 51), is considering the idea of playing in the next season.
Plekanec, even at 41, would therefore not be the oldest player in the squad. Eh eh.
Honestly, good for the player… And good for the organization and its supporters. If Plekanec feels physically capable of playing another season at the professional level, then why not.
I don’t see why he would want to retire if that’s not the case.
