It had been a while since we had hoped, the first electric motorcycle of the Chinese manufacturer Niu finally put its wheels in Europe on the occasion of the Milan 2021 show.
Presented for the first time as a prototype at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas in January 2020, the RQi Sport had subsequently accumulated a certain delay, until its presentation on the Milan stand of the Chinese firm.
Aesthetically, the bike retains the expected style, whether it is the round front headlight, the banana swingarm and the design of the fairings.
On the other hand, the performance of the motorcycle has apparently been revised downwards, with an electric motor housed in the center of the motorcycle of 5 kW (7.5 kW peak), offering a maximum speed of 100 km / h.
Autonomy does not exceed 120 km, and is provided by two removable batteries (72 V), each still displaying 25 kg on the scale. To recharge the set, it takes about seven hours.
Side cycle, we find on the Chinese electric motorcycle an inverted fork and a rear mono shock absorber, 17-inch rims, a disc brake system, all weighing 186 kg, the pack of two batteries included.
Technologically, the first Niu electric motorcycle is at the level of the most high-end sccoters of the brand with full LED lighting, a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, but also the more surprising presence of cameras arranged at the front and at the back. rear of the motorcycle.
Available in three colors, red, green and gray, the Niu RQi Sport is displayed at a price of € 6,999 (excluding ecological bonus and any aid). It should arrive in French concessions during the summer.
