Nigerian striker joins MLS
« I am so excited to join Sporting KC, Agada said in the club’s official statement. It’s a dream to play for a club like this and I hope to come and help the team achieve success. It’s a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to perform in front of the fans in Kansas City. »
A joker from Israel
Born in Bauchi, Nigeria, William Agada is the second African player from the Israeli Premier League to sign with Sporting Kansas City, after the Ethiopian Gadi Kinda. His arrival with the Kansas club is explained by the fact that its star designated player Alan Pulido will be out for the remainder of the 2022 season after undergoing knee surgery. Agada scored 37 goals in his four seasons (122 games played) in Israel, including three with Hapoel Jerusalem and one with Hapoel Haifa, where he was loaned out during the 2020-21 season.
SKC is currently 12th in the Western Conference in MLS, a far cry from a playoff spot, with 4 wins, 9 losses and 4 draws. However, he recently qualified for the semi-finals of the US Open Cup, where he will face USL championship team Sacramento Republic.
