The Colorado Avalanche announced on Saturday that they have claimed the name of Quebec forward Nicolas Aubé-Kubel on waivers.
The 25-year-old right winger had been offered to all National Hockey League teams by the Philadelphia Flyers the day before.

Selected in the second round (48th overall) in the 2014 draft, Aubé-Kubel has spent his entire career with the Pennsylvania organization. He’s enjoyed more playing time on the Bettman circuit over the past three seasons, amassing 28 points in 102 total games.
In 2021-2022, the one who will become a free agent at the end of the campaign has collected only one assist in seven games with the Flyers. He also spent six minutes in the penalty bench and showed a -3 differential.
On Saturday, the New York Islanders placed the name of forward Leo Komarov on waivers, while the Seattle Kraken did the same with that of Riley Sheahan.
