Timo Meier has been untenable for two weeks. Author of a goal and an assist, the Appenzeller striker was named 1st star of a game won 5-4 by San Jose in Dallas in the NHL.
Meier made it 3-2 in the 21st – his 7th success this season – with an accurate wrist shot, finding the net in a 5th game in a row. He then signed the assist on the 5-2 in the 41st.
Timo Meier is now on 14 points in 16 matches including 10 in the last 7 meetings, during which he managed each time at least 1 point. He had indeed started the season timidly with only 2 points scored in the first 9 matches.
Thanks to this success, their 4th of the season, the Sharks ended a series of 5 games without a win. The Californian franchise was however clearly dominated by the Stars, who framed 29 shots against only 18 for the Sharks.
An assist for Malgin
With Toronto, Solothurn Denis Malgin scored his 4th point of the season, his 2nd assist, in a 4-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. That game was marked by Russian Penguins star Evgeni Malkin’s 450th regular season goal.
