NHL news: Carey Price joins player assistance program

We now know the reason for the absence of the goalkeeper of the Montreal Canadiens Carey Price. During an otherwise very emotional press conference, the director-general of the organization Marc Bergevin indicated that the American would join the player assistance program.

This program was established by the NHL and the Players’ Association in 1996 and helps players and their loved ones with mental health, addiction and other issues. An advisor is available in each of the cities where a team is located.

The duration of Price’s absence is still unknown, as are the exact reasons for this decision. The player’s wife announced on social media that her husband needed psychological support.
