NHL: Minnesota Wild wins Washington Capitals
There were only two NHL games on Friday. The Minnesota Wild won among the Washington Capitals (2-1), defending champions and leaders of the Central Division, on goals from Jordan Greenway and Luke Kunin. Thanks to this victory, the Wild now occupies eighth place in the Western Conference – the last qualifier for the play-offs – and is one point ahead of the Colorado Avalanche and the Arizona Coyotes. Minnesota still has five games to play, compared to six for its two rivals.
The San Jose Sharks, second in the Pacific division and already qualified for the play-offs, suffered a fifth consecutive defeat, against the Anaheim Ducks (4-3 ap). They made the difference after only 38 seconds of play in overtime on a goal from Jakob Silfverberg.
