NHL: Kurashev delivers Chicago in overtime – rts.ch

Philipp Kurashev was the Swiss hero of the evening in the NHL. The Zurich player scored his third goal of the season to give Chicago a 3-2 victory on their own ice against Montreal.

Kurashev made it 3-2 after 2’24 » of play in overtime to be honored with the first star. He deceived goalkeeper Sam Montembeault after a confused action which had to be validated by the video. The Canadian has, in fact, requested a « challenge » for an alleged foul by Kurashev on defender Mike Hoffman.

Finalist of the last Stanley Cup, the Canadian conceded a 5th loss in a row to present the worst record in the League… He now wears the dunce cap that Janis Moser’s Arizona gave him.

Dean Kukan also experienced the delights of victory. Columbus won 6-0 in Raleigh against Carolina by Nino Niederreiter, who posted a -3 record. Author of 31 saves, the ex-Luganese Elvis Metzlikins is the first goalkeeper this season to score a shutout against the Hurricanes.
