Grégory Hofmann will no longer wear the Columbus Blue Jackets jersey. The Bernese Jura forward, who returned to Switzerland in December to attend the birth of his child, told the Ohio franchise he will not return to the United States. He will play again with the EV Zug.

Acquired in February in an exchange with the Carolina Hurricanes, the Swiss champion with Zug had signed a one-year lease with the Columbus team on June 14, 2021. Hofmann will be able to play again in Zug once all the transfer formalities with the NHL have been completed. His contract in central Switzerland is valid until 2023.
