The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced that Arizona Coyotes forward Michael Carcone was fined $2,027.23 for brutalizing Vegas Golden Knights forward Gage Quinney on Tuesday. .
Carcone hit Quinney high six minutes into the second period.
Carcone, 26, played 21 games with the Coyotes last year, his first in the NHL. He totaled six points to go with his 41 with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners.
Vancouver signed Carcone as an undrafted free agent in 2016 before being sent to Toronto for Josh Leivo in 2018. Carcone was then part of the deal that sent Nikita Zaitsev and Connor Brown to Ottawa, where he remained until he was traded to Nashville in 2020. The Predators loaned him to Tuscon two years later before finally trading him to Arizona last summer.
Carcone was given a waiver on September 29 before being recalled two days later.
