NHL Daily Betting Guide: February 22
Having a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor with this betting model and our betting tools.
Every day we will review every match, sports betting odds (via PointsBet) and odds for every winning team based on the model created by Philippe Boulsink. Based on these two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to watch throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “recommended bets” are 1 unit bets.
I will also provide best bet analysis and update this post throughout the day to report important news regarding injuries, roster changes and the departure of reserve goalkeepers.
The number to watch is the « Diff ». which is the percentage difference between the projected Win% of the model and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds convert to percentages, use our odds calculator.

Recommended bets
The model does not recommend any bets on Tuesday. He’s closest on the Blue Jackets at +217, but with JF Berube starting again, it’s probably best to stay clear of this one regardless.
BONUS bet:
PHI/STL greater than 6.5 (+107)
After winning back-to-back games in late January and early February, the Flyers have lost five straight since. Even with the losses piling up again, their offense was solid. They are averaging 3.1 goals for and 4.0 goals against per game over that span. Five of those seven games have exceeded 6.5 goals.
Tonight they host a Blues side who have won three of their last four games while scoring 18 goals (4.5 per game). Tonight they will look to Jordan Binnington, who has allowed 18 goals against in his last three starts and allowed at least three goals in 12 of his last 15 games.
Chances are it will turn into a high score game.
1 unit bet: PHI/STL greater than 6.5 (+107)
Yaremchuk’s Picks
Game pick: St. Louis puck line vs. Philadelphia (+115)
Ah, it was hard yesterday. The Flyers were able to keep it tight and get it into overtime against Carolina, which was certainly unexpected. Tonight, I like the Blues getting a big win over the Flyers. The Blues are 3-1-1 in February and have covered the puck line in each of those wins. The Flyers also haven’t been good in the second half of consecutive games this season with just two wins in eight games. The Blues looked good in their win over Toronto and I think they will win again tonight.
Choice of accessories: Kevin Fiala over 0.5 assists (+130)
I’ve been to this accessory several times this season and still love it tonight. He’s done that in three of his last five games and seven of his last 10. So he hit 70% recently and we’re still getting a good payout at +130. The Wild scored seven goals against Edmonton over the weekend and I think they can keep their attack on Ottawa.
