NHL.com redoes the top-10 of the 2017 draft

As the 2017 NHL Draft approached, the big story wasn’t just about the players who would hear their names on draft night. No, this time it was about the NHL’s newest expansion franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, who had held their expansion draft a few days earlier.

That said, with hindsight we can see that the 2017 edition was very unpredictable. Several players in the top-10 still haven’t proven anything at the NHL level. In fact only 4 players have established themselves as impact players.

NHL.com had fun redoing the top-10 and here’s what it looks like.

Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman jumped from 111th to 8th.

As far as we are concerned, Nick Suzuki has also proven that he is better than his initial position, 13th. NHL places him 7th but in the eyes of many, he is ahead of Oettinger and Thomas.

But what is most striking when looking at this ranking is that the Dallas Stars managed to select 3 players who are now ranked 2nd, 5th and 6th. wow!
