NHL: a 21st goal for Meier, a 16th for Hischier – rts.ch

Timo Meier and Nico Hischier both found the net on Jan. 1 in the NHL. If the Appenzellois won with San Jose in Chicago (5-2), the Valaisan suffered defeat with the Devils against Carolina (5-4 on penalties).

Ninth top scorer in the League, Timo Meier signed his 21st success in this exercise. He scored the 4-2 safety in the 44th minute of a game in which the Sharks were down 2-0.

San Jose turned the tide in under 10 minutes to hand Philipp Kurashev’s Blackhawks a 12th loss in their last 13 games. Gadjovich and Vlasic notably scored the 1-2 and 2-2 in the space of 41 seconds in the 36th minute.

A 9th defeat in 11 matches for the Devils

The Devils of Nico Hischier and Jonas Siegenthaler suffered a 9th defeat against the Hurricanes in their last 11 games. The Valais center scored 3-3 in the 49th while going around the cage, to sign his 16th goal in this 2022/23 exercise.

New Jersey even led 4-3 in the 54th following a goal from Jesper Bratt. But the Devils did not find the fault in the series of shots on goal, Andrei Svechnikov then offering Carolina its 11th consecutive victory (franchise record).
