Note that Canadian rookie Cole Caufield received an 83 from EA Sports. Not bad for a youngster with only 30 games of NHL experience, including 20 in the playoffs. « Goal » Caufield had particularly impressed the organization of the Habs and its supporters during the latter by amassing 12 points, including four goals.

New Minnesota Wild star Kirill Kaprizov, who has just agreed with the club for the next five years ($ 45 million), did enough last season by winning the Calder Trophy to earn an 88, notably ahead of established players Gabriel Landeskog and Johnny “Hockey” Gaudreau.
If Kaprizov succeeded in wowing EA Sports, it is a little less the case for the Quebecer Alexis Lafrenière. First overall pick in the 2020 draft, the New York Rangers winger received an 82, a score that is justified by the numbers he posted last season (21 points in 56 games). « Laffy » should see her overall be adjusted during the season if its development proceeds as anticipated.
On the blue line, it was no surprise to Victor Hedman of the Tampa Bay Lightning that came first. The Swedish full-back who has posted a positive differential since the 2012-13 season has also received a 92, like his compatriot Nikita Kucherov, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in the last two seasons.
