NHL 22: fans unhappy with Auston Matthews’ selection
It’s official: forward Auston Matthews will adorn the cover of NHL 22. A decision that is far from unanimous, especially among critics of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The talent of the 23-year-old center leaves no doubt. But from there to giving him this honor for the second time in three years… The last time I checked, there were other good elements in the circuit. Good, and loved by amateurs.
There’s also the fact that Matthews struggles to make a difference in the playoffs. If only the Leafs had made it through a round since his debut in 2016.
It really has to be profitable for the Electronic Arts company.

Matthews, the unloved
EA SPORTS NHL unveiled the cover on Thursday. As was to be expected, video game fans did not hesitate to express themselves on social networks.

The year 2022 may be that of Auston Matthews; it’s up to him to prove to us that he deserves to see his hoe on a wallet. Otherwise EA Sports may have to look to someone else to promote NHL 23.
