NHL: 13 in a row for the Devils and Nico Hischier – rts.ch
The Devils equaled the franchise record by picking up a 13th consecutive NHL success on Monday. The New Jersey franchise beat Edmonton 5-2, thanks in particular to 3 assists from Nico Hischier.
Designated 2nd star of this game, the Valais center signed the decisive pass on his team’s first two goals before being credited with an assist on the 4-2 scored by Tomas Tatar in the 48th. Jonas Siegenthaler did not score a point, but he posted a record of +2 at the end of the match.
Hischier is now on 22 points from 18 appearances this season. The Devils have 16 wins in 19 games played, including 13 consecutive ones. They will have the opportunity to break the franchise record, established in February-March 2001, on Wednesday against the Maple Leafs of Denis Malgin.
« Guess we’re up there in the history book« said New Jersey captain Nico Hischier. »No one is going to take that away from us, and that feels good. It proves that we are a good team, that we can win matches, that we no longer need to hide.«
