Tom Brady had indicated that he played last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite a knee injury.
Ian Rapoport from NFL Network revealed Thursday that the 43-year-old quarterback still won a seventh Super Bowl after suffering the entire season from a torn ligament.
He underwent surgery after the Bucs’ triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs in February. Still, he had a terrific season with 40 touchdowns and had 4,633 passing yards to rank third in the league in that regard.
Brady did not participate in the team’s training program this spring as he attended the minicamp in June.
The quarterback initialed a one-season contract extension in March after agreeing to a two-campaign, 50 million pact with the Buccaneers in 2020.
