NFL | The state of forces

It’s already been a quarter of the season in the NFL, as the fifth week of activity will begin with a Colts-Broncos game Thursday night in Denver. To set the table, we go around the 32 teams.

1- Eagles (4-0) – Only undefeated team and the offensive line has a lot to do with it. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), she is the best in the league so far.

2- Chiefs (3-1) – After a somewhat disappointing season, Patrick Mahomes is back at the top of his game. Also according to the PFF, the second best offensive line is that of the Chiefs.

3- Bills (3-1) – The club’s first choice in 2021, Greg Rousseau already has four sacks, the same total as in his rookie season. The arrival of Von Miller is surely there for something.

4- Packers (3-1) – When all of her starters are healthy, the Packers’ secondary is the most talented in the league. Few teams can count on a pair of cornerbacks of the caliber of Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes.

5- Dolphins (3-1) – Hopefully the Dolphins will give Tua Tagovailoa plenty of time to heal. And hope they and the League have learned from this fiasco.

6- 49ers (2-2) – If Jimmy Garoppolo takes his game up a notch, the Niners can realistically aim to win their sixth title and their first in 28 years.

7- Rams (2-2) – A quick text message to newly retired Andrew Whitworth? Their former left tackle would certainly help a line that has already allowed 16 sacks. Matthew Stafford will not finish the season if it continues.

8- Bengals (2-2) – Joe Mixon is getting just 2.7 yards per carry (224 for 82). He’s versatile and tough, but isn’t the most adept of ball carriers at finding the openings in front of him.

9- Cowboys (3-1) – Dak Prescott will likely miss another game and Cooper Rush’s performance allows the organization to be patient. The next two parts will tell us more about the amazing Boys, who will visit the Rams and then the Eagles.

10- Buccaneers (2-2) – Will his divorce from Gisele Bündchen affect Tom Brady’s game? Two straight home defeats.

11- Ravens (2-2) – The weakness of the wide end group remains, while Devin Duvernay is the most productive with 12 catches. Over a 17-game season, he would catch just 51 passes. Top tight end Mark Andrews leads the team with 24 catches.

12- Chargers (2-2) – The loss of Rashawn Slater (biceps), who could return to action at the end of the season, is significant. Playing only his second season, he was already one of the best left tackles in the league.

13- Titans (2-2) – Since signing his contract which gives him an annual salary of 16.5 million, Bud Dupree has had 4 sacks in 14 games with the Titans, who will almost certainly release him in March if he is not more productive.

14- Jaguars (2-2) – They were last in the first edition of our statement of forces a few weeks ago… Their differential of +38 points is the third in the league behind those of the Bills and the Eagles.

15- Giants (3-1) – A good start to the season which would be even more so if Kenny Golladay produced. The receiver caught only 2 passes for 22 yards in 4 games, earning him 13 million this season.

16- Broncos (2-2) – The loss of carrier Javonte Williams (knee) for the rest of the season will obviously not help the offense find rhythm.

17- Browns (2-2) – Myles Garrett could be inconvenienced for weeks by the shoulder injury he suffered in his car accident.

18- Vikings (3-1) – Their record could very well be 1-3 and it would probably be 0-4 if Justin Jefferson played elsewhere.

19- Cardinals (2-2) – JJ Watt played four days after suffering defibrillation last week… The veteran has two sacks in three games this season.

20- Seahawks (2-2) – NFC Player of the Week Geno Smith has the third-highest efficiency rating in the league (108). If he continues to play like this, the Seahawks will have pulled off a masterstroke by trading Russell Wilson.

21- Raiders (1-3) – Maxx Crosby already has four sacks, but Chandler Jones is still looking for his first with the Silver and Black.

22- Falcons (2-2) – The absence of a month of Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) will considerably weaken a team which continues to cause surprise despite limited talent.

23- Saints (1-3) – Injuries are partly to blame, but it’s been a disappointing start to the season for such a talented team on paper.

24- Colts (1-2-1) – Ditto for the Colts, we can’t wait to see them play Thursday night in Denver.

25- Throws (2-2) – The 2022 draft will perhaps be seen as the moment when the Jets finally get off the ground in a few years.

26- Lions (1-3) – In his last nine games, Jared Goff has thrown 22 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions. He is only 27 years old, let’s not forget that.

27- Patriots (1-3) – They will rarely get downgraded thanks to Bill Belichick, but the Pats appear to be heading for a second losing season in three years.

28- Steelers (1-3) – The good news for Kenny Pickett is that he will get his first start on Sunday. The bad news is that it will be in Buffalo.

29- Commanders (1-3) – The only Quebecer in the NFL, Benjamin St-Juste is tied for first on his team with four passes defended.

30- Panthers (1-3) – No, Baker Mayfield is not the solution. Will the Panthers regret not drafting Pickett with the sixth pick in April?

31- Bears (2-2) – Two wins, but will they win again this season? Maybe once or twice.

32- Texans (0-3-1) – The only team still without a win, which should come as no surprise to anyone.
