CJ Stroud
QB, Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions lost another game this weekend, losing to the Miami Dolphins when they looked very good offensively early in the game. Offense hasn’t been the problem this season, but with Jared Goff as quarterback, the Lions can’t afford to miss out on one of the best signal-callers in this draft class.
Next year’s big debate will be between CJ Stroud and Bryce Young for the No. 1 pick, but Stroud trumps Young here. Detroit could bring in Goff in 2023 and let Stroud learn the job, which isn’t a bad deal.
Bryce Young
QB, Houston Texas

Davis Mills is a very capable NFL quarterback, and in his last outing he crushed the Las Vegas Raiders defense for over 300 yards. However, there’s no way the Houston Texans will miss out on Bryce Young as the second pick, especially if he’s fresh off winning the Heisman Trophy.
Young is the kind of player you can build your entire franchise around, and while Mills is solid, he’s not good enough for the Texans to do that with him. Young at number 2 makes a lot of sense, and if Stroud is the one available here, he should be the pick then.
