NFL: five players who could be traded before deadline

[ad_1]

NFL teams have until Tuesday afternoon to transact with the goal of improving themselves or divesting themselves into a better future. The Denver Broncos got the ball rolling on Monday, as they sent Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams for a second- and third-round pick.

Here are five other players who may well change addresses in the next few hours:

Deshaun Watson – Quarterback

The Houston Texans quarterback has not played a game in 2021, who is under investigation for a series of allegations of misconduct and sexual assault. Never mind, there would still be teams calling the Texas club to inquire about Watson. They would like to offer protected draft picks for the pivot, so they have an insurance policy if he is eventually suspended or in jail.

The 26-year-old had his best career campaign in 2020, amassing 4,823 yards and 33 touchdowns with his arm. He had also asked to be traded after this season, before 22 women accused him.

Xavien Howard – Cornerback

During the last offseason, Howard publicly asked to leave the Miami Dophins. He finally poured water into his wine and the team offered him a raise.

He would, however, be as miserable as stones with the club Florida, which has a poor 1-7 record so far. It looks like the Dolphins are ready to sell players for draft picks. Howard could get them a first-round one, who traded theirs to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Allen Robinson II – Receiver

Another player who is unhappy in his current squad. Last summer, the Chicago Bears used their franchise tag on Robinson II and he really didn’t like the maneuver.

The veteran is having a tough season, catching just 26 passes for 271 yards and a touchdown in eight games. Instead of losing him for nothing in the free agent market in 2022, the Bears could get pretty good for one who has once been considered one of the best in his profession.

Brandin Cooks – Receiver

Cooks is currently with the worst offense in the NFL for the Texans and he is still enjoying success. In eight games, he got his hands on 51 balls for 585 yards and two majors. If he continues at the same pace, he will have the best season of his career.

Considering that Houston is not going anywhere in 2021, why not try to get some interesting picks in return for the athlete who could become a free agent in the next offseason?

Marcus Maye – Marauder

As in the case of Robinson II, the New York Jets’ use of the franchise player label on Maye would have completely screwed up the relationship between the two sides.

The Big Apple roster has even already established the price for the Florida native, a third round pick in the next draft.
