NFL | Drew Brees Joins NBC Network as Analyst






(New York) Quarterback Drew Brees joins NBC Sports, the day after news of his retirement from the NFL is announced. He will act as an analyst for the matches of the Notre-Dame university team and will also work in the studio on the show. Football Night in America, Sunday evenings.

Brees will also be on NBC’s Super Bowl squad next year and will play a role in covering other events, including the Olympics. The career leader for passing yards in the NFL reportedly took the job last year after his playing career was completed.

Brees are supposed to cover Notre Dame games with Mike Tirico, but this duo could also work in NFL games. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth have teamed up since 2009, but Michaels could retire after the Super Bowl in Los Angeles next February.

Brees also announced that he plans to stay involved in the philanthropic arena, particularly in New Orleans. Brees, who joined the Saints in 2006 after five seasons with the San Diego Chargers, was named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2006 and guided the franchise to a championship in 2009.
