NFL: Devonta Freeman on active Baltimore Ravens training
The Baltimore Ravens incorporated running back Devonta Freeman on their active roster Thursday after he spent Week 1 on the practice squad.
Freeman joins Ty’Son Williams and Latavius Murray in the Ravens’ revamped backfield. The latter contracted Freeman last Friday, the day after Gus Edwards lost the remainder of the season to a knee injury.
A two-time Pro Bowl guest, Freeman was cut off by the New Orleans Saints on Aug.31 after spending a month with the team. Last year, Freeman amassed 172 yards and a touchdown in five games with the New York Giants.
