NFL: Dennis Allen remains Saints head coach
Dennis Allen will return to the helm of the New Orleans Saints for a second consecutive year. General Manager Mickey Loomis made the announcement at a press conference.
At 50, Allen served as defensive coordinator for seven seasons before taking the head coaching job vacated by Sean Payton.
The Saints posted a 7-10 record in 2022, finishing third in the NFC South Division. They miss a second season in a row.
Prior to joining the Saints, Allen was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders for nearly three seasons. He was fired after four games in 2014. He posted a record of 8 wins and 26 losses.
