NFL: David Montgomery (Bears) avoids the worst but will have to be absent 4-5 weeks
Good news and bad for the Chicago Bears.
The maid? David Montgomery didn’t tear a ligament last Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
The bad? The running back suffers from a sprained right knee and will be absent for at least four to five weeks.
Montgomery was having his best game of the season with 106 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns against the Lions, which the Bears (2-2) beat 24-14.
The 24-man was injured in the fourth quarter after a 5-yard run. He had to be escorted off the field.
The Bears will visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
