NFL: Cam Newton received vaccine in an attempt to find NFL work
Cam Newton wants to find a job in the NFL and he made the decision to get the COVID-19 vaccine to find a job. At least that’s the announcement he made in a video on Youtube.
The 32-year-old Newton was released by the New England Patriots just before the start of the season. He had missed three practices because of what the Pats called a « misunderstanding » related to the COVID-19 protocol.
Head coach Bill Belichick had mentioned that his release was unrelated to his vaccination status.
“Absolutely, I want to play football. I still have this desire to go out in the field and perform, do what I’ve always done since I was seven, ”Newton explains in the video on Youtube.
The 2015 MVP added that while he receives offers from some teams, the situation « has to be the right one. »
Newton said he was reluctant to be vaccinated at first « since the side effects weren’t good for him. » He added that he still believed that receiving the vaccine was « a personal decision. »
