NFL: Bills won 31-6 over Saints, who lost fourth in a row

SUMMARY

NEW ORLEANS – Josh Allen threw four touchdown passes with gains of 260 yards, guiding the Buffalo Bills to a 31-6 correction against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.

“Our head coach always talks about being playoff caliber and that’s the kind of team we want to be,” Allen said. We want to be the best version of ourselves, every time we step on the pitch. « 

Dawson Knox caught two touchdown passes, setting a team record for a running back with seven majors in one season. His second touchdown gave the Bills a 24-0 lead (7-4).

Stefon Diggs grabbed seven passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. Running back Matt Breida turned a short pass into a 23-yard major.

“Losing the way we did last weekend can be demoralizing at times,” said Bills defensive end Mario Addison. You have to forget everything and start over. Everyone had a very good mentality before the game and we were just ready. « 

The Saints (5-6), who were without star backer Alvin Kamara for a third straight game, were shut out for three quarters. They finally scored points following an 11-yard pass from Trevor Siemian to Nick Vannett.

The Buffalo defense stood out, giving the Saints just 36 yards in the first quarter, for a total of 190 at the end of the game.

The New Orleans squad suffered a fourth loss in a row and were outscored 361-190 in total yards.

The clash illustrated how limited the Saints’ offense has become due to injuries to Kamara and star receiving Michael Thomas, who has not played for the season.

The Saints were 5-2 as quarterback Jameis Winston opened the game. He replaced Drew Brees, who announced his retirement last year. However, Winston injured his knee in the team’s last win on October 31, and he will miss the remainder of the season.

“Before the game we felt we needed to be more aggressive because we knew how effective the Bills offense could be,” said Saints head coach Sean Payton. We weren’t going to be able to win against teams like that by scoring 14 or 17 points. « 

Siemian completed 17 of his 29 passes for 163 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Taysom Hill, who is coming back from a foot injury, was in the lineup but didn’t play.

Most of the fans left the Caesars Superdome early in the fourth quarter, leaving a strong contingent of Bills fans to celebrate their team’s victory.

Tre’Davious White injured

Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White was unable to complete the game with a knee injury in the second quarter.

He was injured while covering wide receiver Marquez Callaway. He limped off the field and was visibly frustrated on the sidelines, before retreating to the locker room.

White is one of the best defensive players on the team and it was a big loss. He was replaced by Dane Jackson as his team led 10-0.
