NFL: all scenarios for the playoffs


RDS and RDS.ca present three decisive games for the portrait of the playoffs on Sunday, starting with that between the Bills and the Patriots at 1 p.m.

Also follow all the action of this last week of the regular season thanks to NFL Red Zone.

On this final day of the regular NFL schedule, the playoff draw is almost complete. Six teams have already secured their place in the National Conference and six others have already qualified for the American.

The fight to reach the qualifiers is not over, however, while several clubs still have a chance to sneak in today.

The Kansas City Chiefs secured their place at the top of the AFC with their victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, while the Jacksonville Jaguars earned their ticket by defeating and eliminating the Tennessee Titans a few hours later.

Here are the Week 18 scenarios that will see teams qualify for the playoffs that begin on January 14. Fourteen teams will enter, seven from each association.

Clubs guaranteed a place in the qualifiers: 49ers (West Division champions), Vikings (North), Buccaneers (South), Eagles, Cowboys and Giants.

The scenarios for the playoffs in the AFC:

New England Patriots (8-8)

Opponent: Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m.

The Patriots advance to the playoffs if:

Victory OR
Dolphins loss + Steelers loss

Miami Dolphins (8-8)

Opponent: New York Jets at 1 p.m.

The Dolphins advance to the playoffs if:

Victory + defeat of the Patriots

Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8)

Opponent: Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m.

The Steelers advance to the playoffs if:

Win + Dolphins loss + Patriots loss

Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8)

The Jaguars won the AFC South Division Championship and formalized the 4e rank by beating the Tennessee Titans.

Kansas City Chiefs (13-3)

The Chiefs formalized their first place in the AFC by beating the Las Vegas Raiders. If the Bills win on Sunday and face the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, the duel will be played on neutral ground.

The scenarios for the playoffs in the NFC:

Philadelphia Eagles (13-3)

Opponent: New York Giants at 4:25 p.m.

The Eagles will secure home-court advantage in the NFC playoffs if:

Victory OR
Cowboys loss + 49ers loss

The Eagles will win the East Division Championship if:

Victory OR
Cowboys defeat

San Francisco 49ers (12-4)

Opponent: Arizona Cardinals at 4:25 p.m.

The 49ers will secure home-court advantage in the NFC playoffs if:

Victory + Defeat of the Eagles

Dallas Cowboys (12-4)

Opponent: Washington Commanders at 4:25 p.m.

The Cowboys will secure home-court advantage in the NFC playoffs if:

Win + Eagles loss + 49ers loss

The Cowboys will win the East Division Championship if:

Eagles win + loss

Seattle Seahawks (8-8)

Opponent: Los Angeles Rams at 4:25 p.m.

The Seahawks advance to the playoffs if:

Opponent: Detroit Lions at 8:20 p.m.
