NFL: Aaron Rodgers (Packers) MVP of the season for the fourth time, and the second time in a row
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named regular season MVP for the second straight year and fourth time overall on Thursday at an NFL-hosted ceremony three days before the Super Bowl. Rodgers is the second major player in the NFL to win the MVP award four times. Peyton Manning, the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos star, remains on top with five trophies.

A golden season after coming close to the end of his career
Rodgers had 37 touchdowns and 4,115 passing yards during the regular season, being intercepted just four times. He led the Packers to the top of the National Conference, after almost stopping his career at the end of last season, failing to reach an agreement with his leaders for a contract extension.
An agreement was finally reached but the 38-year-old quarterback found himself at the center of a controversy linked to his refusal to be vaccinated, after having nevertheless hinted during the pre-season camp that he had been . He thus missed one game out of the 17 scheduled on the calendar, for a personal record of 13 wins and 3 losses. His performances on the court were excellent, although his hopes of winning another Super Bowl were dashed by a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
