Rangers Showdown – Maple Leafs
The Rangers (10-3-3, 23 points) visit the Maple Leafs (11-5-1, 23 points) on Thursday. Each team enters the game with a streak of four consecutive victories:
- New York, which has won each of its last three meetings with Toronto since Dec. 28, 2019 (TOR: 0-1-2), will look to post a five-game winning streak for the first time since 2019-20 (5- 0-0 from February 19 to 27, 2020). Adam Fox (4-12-16 in 16 GP) has scored 2-2-4 in Rangers’ last four outings and is currently tied with Predators captain Roman Josi (6-10-16 in 16 GP) for the lead NHL markers.
- Toronto have won nine of their last ten games after starting the season with just three wins in seven games, which saw them drop from sixth place in the Atlantic Division at the start of the game on October 27 to second behind the Florida (11-2-3, 25 points). Mitchell Marner leads the Maple Leafs with 4-10-14 (10 GP) since October 27. He’s second only to Oilers teammates Leon Draisaitl (13-9-22 in 10 GP) and Connor McDavid (4-12-16 in 10 GP) for most in the NHL during this span.
Suter returns to Minnesota
Stars defenseman Ryan Suter will return to Minnesota for the first time since signing with Dallas on July 28. Suter (55-314-369 in 656 GP), who has spent the past nine seasons with the Wild, is the franchise’s all-time leader in assists and points by a defenseman.
