Finalist for Head Coach of the Year, andrew Brunette was ultimately not retained in his position by the Florida Panthers. Indeed, the club indicated that it had hired Paul Mauritius for the next three seasons. The latter had resigned last December after spending eight seasons with the Winnipeg Jets. In career, he has 775 NHL successes, which ranks him sixth among all coaches in the league. For the time being, the future of Brunette is not known but it seems that it is kept within the Panthers in another position.
