Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks 7th overall in the last NHL draft, the defenseman Kevin Korchinsky initialed his first professional contract. The 18-year-old Canadian had an impressive second season with the Seattle Thunderbirds totaling 65 points in 60 games and posting a +36 differential. He was also the WHL rookie with the most assists of the season with 61 assists.
