Time will tell if the new general manager of the Montreal Canadiens Kent Hughes has pulled off a stroke of genius or not. And for good reason, the Habs acquired Sean monahan for nothing more than getting a conditional 1st round pick. Only future considerations, in other words nothing, were granted to the Calgary Flames.

The sixth pick in the 2013 draft, Monahan seems like, especially at this price, an incredible bargain. Unfortunately, the center player slowed down considerably in addition to undergoing hip surgery before the end of the last exercise. In 2018-19, the 27-year-old had 82 points before seeing his production drop to 48, 28 and eventually 23 points. Monahan’s contract is still valid for one season, if he does not produce, he can always change his address.
