The Pittsburgh Penguins were sold to Fenway Sports Group (FSG) on Monday. Mario lemieux, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Penguins as a player, will retain limited squad shares. Ron Burkle, who with Lemieux became the majority owner of the Penguins in 1999, will also retain a stake in the team. The sale has yet to be approved by the NHL Board of Governors.
