Notes :

The first surprise in these play-offs could come from Boston, which now leads 2-1 in the series. Because despite a goal ofAlex ovechkin -His 800th goal in NHL- shortly before mid-game opening the scoring, Boston had the response by equalizing almost immediately by Taylor hall. Washington did well in 2nd tea with a 2-1 advantage thanks to Nic dowd, but Boston remained very eye-catching by multiplying the charges and although the 3rd third seemed to be in favor of the Capitals, Brad Marchand stood out again by scoring the equalizer in the 52nd. It is finally Craig smith who took advantage of a blunder by Justin Schultz behind his goalkeeper to foil Ilya Samsonov -1st playoff game of his career- and give the Bruins the victory 3-2 in the 86th minute. Notably, all three stars in the game went to players from Boston and the shots on target were 43-37 for the winners. Game 4 will take place at the same location on Friday, but it should be noted that statistically, the club that leads 2-1 in the series has a 67% chance of winning.

Second surprise of the evening, the Winnipeg Jets muzzled the Oilers’ powerful offense to win the first game of their series 4-1. Surprisingly, the two leaders that are Connor McDavid – who has just received the Art-Ross (see also our news) – and Léon Draisaitl not only did not score, but came out of the ice with a record of -2. But it seems that here too, the aggressiveness of the Jets (60 charges) has paid off. In addition, the doorman of the Jets Connor Hellebuyck was particularly illustrated, especially at the end of the game where it was particularly bombed by Edmonton. The fort being held behind, Winnipeg was able to throw blocks that hit the mark four times without opposition even if the opener had been done by the Oilers. Surprisingly, Edmonton had won seven of the nine regular season games played between these two teams.

Confirmation, however, of the Colorado Avalanche’s superiority over St. Louis who was already leading by 3-0 in the 24th minute. And in the face of the attack led by a Nathan McKinnon -hat-trick and an assist- particularly in verve, followed by the Finn Joonas Donskoi, who scored two goals and an assist, the Missouri franchise could not do much and the presence of David Perron, its leading scorer, probably would not have changed much. The Avalanche lead 2-0 in the series with Game 3 in St. Louis on Friday.
