The Stars (31-20-3, 65 points) re-entered the Western Conference playoff draw. Jason Robertson scored his first career hat trick in his 100th NHL game.
He became the fourth player in Stars/North Stars history to complete a regular season hat trick with an overtime goal and the first to do so since the club moved to Dallas (two players have done so in the playoffs).
Joe Pavelsky (7th round pick in 2003) collected an assist to record his 900th career point (415-485-900 in 1,140 GP), becoming the sixth player in NHL history to be selected in the 7th round or later and reach that milestone.
Pavelski was selected in a nine-round draft, but in 2005 the event was reduced to seven rounds; since then, the highest number of points by a player selected in the last round is 533 (Patrick Hornqvist7th round pick in 2005).
